Carla Morris is a librarian of more than 20 years and a first-time author of The Boy Who Was Raised by Librarians. This children’s picture book chronicles the tale of three librarians who befriend and guide a young boy in his quest for knowledge. The story pulls both from Morris’s own love for libraries as a child and now as an adult, and from her personal experience.

Morris and her fellow librarians at the Provo City Library hired a teenage boy who was on his own; they provided guidance in many areas of his life, such as what to wear, how to cook, and what to study. Now that he is grown, he works full time at the library, where he was also married, and he is pursuing a degree in Philosophy at night with plenty of encouragement from his fellow employees.

Morris received her Bachelor of Arts and her Masters in Library Science from Brigham Young University. She works as the Head of Children’s Services for the Provo City library in Provo, Utah.
