William Kittredge is the author of A Hole in the Sky and The Willow Field. His new essay collection will be published in fall 2007. He has received numerous awards including the 2007 Robert Kirsch Lifetime Achievement Award from the Los Angeles Times.

Jane Hamilton is the author of The Book of Ruth, winner of the PEN/Hemingway Award for first fiction, and A Map of the World, a New York Times Notable Book of the Year and named one the top ten books of the year by Entertainment Weekly, Publishers Weekly, the Miami Herald, and People. Both The Book of Ruth and A Map of the World have been selections of Oprah's Book Club.
 Laurel Thatcher Ulrich is Phillips Professor of Early American History at Harvard University. Her latest book, Well-Behaved Women Seldom Make History, will be published in September. |
