Paul Pitts joins the Festival in cooperation with the San Juan County Library.

Paul Pitts is the author of young adult books, often with Native American themes. As a teacher for several years at Montezuma Creek schools on the Navajo Reservation in San Juan County, Dr. Pitts came to know and subsequently to write about the Navajo people. The protagonist of his book Racing the Sun is a Navajo boy on the cusp of two cultures. Pitts is currently a professor at Weber State University in Utah.
