Lighting Their Way for Over 100 Years
The vast coalfields of eastern Utah discovered in the early 1880s attracted workers from all over the world. Just like today, miners then faced the dangers of the pitch-dark coalmine with special equipment to help them work. Lighting Their Way displays different methods of lighting used by coal miners over the last 100 years, and shows how improvements in mine lighting have made a dramatic difference to the safety of miners and the efficiency of their work.

"By attending the workshops we were able to interact with people from the other surrounding museums. These colleagues were great to share ideas and insights with."
