Book BuzzBook Buzz is a reading and discussion program that lends books and other resources to groups, libraries, organizations, schools, community centers, and/or book clubs meeting in a public place and is free to participants.

Our Lending Library houses over 150 titles of multiple copies of books for loan (usually in sets of 15), some with study guides. To view the Lending Library by theme or alphabetically go to: Complete Lending Library Book List.

How Does Book Buzz Work?

Hosting groups, schools, and organizations may borrow books from the lending library as long as the book meetings are free and advertised to the public. UHC pays for the cost of shipping books, and the host pays the return shipping costs.

If you don't have a public place to meet, then meet at your local library. Libraries often have meeting space available for public programs. You may wish to inquire at your local library if there is a reading group which meets regularly, or you may wish to start such a group at your library.

Private Book Clubs and Individual Access

For groups which are not open to the public and not held in a public place, there is a charge of $25 per book title. Or, with an annual donation of $25, an individual may gain access to the UHC library for personal use (single copies of books).

Discussion Leaders

UHC offers discussion leaders to facilitate reading discussions through Book Buzz with audiences of fifteen or more meeting in a public place. We do limit each organization or group to hosting three discussion leaders per year. If you anticipate difficulty guaranteeing an audience of 15, we suggest you consider cohosting the program with another organization to help publicize the event.

How Do I Become a Discussion Leader?

To be considered as a discussion leader please complete the following application: Discussion Leader Application.
