Elizabethan Renaissance: The Cultural Achievement

Oct 6, 2016, 7:00 pm

Join Weber State University scholar, Stephen Francis, in a discussion of "Elizabethan Renaissance: The Cultural Achievement" by A.L. Rowse.

How are we supporting the arts and humanities in our own times? Through government agencies such as NEH and NEA, wealthy philanthropists, and community organizations? A.L. Rowse chronicles the astonishingly rich cultural flowering that marked the reign of Elizabeth I. He brings vividly to life the age's poetry, music, science, painting, sculpture, minor arts, and above all, the tightly knit world of the theatre.

This project is funded in part by a UH Quick Grant.
