Utah Humanities Book Festival

2013 Book Festival

Celebrating a milestone 16th year this year, the Utah Humanities Book Festival is Utah’s oldest and only statewide book festival and has become Utah’s signature literary event. The festival is a chance for book lovers of all types to enjoy some great, free-of-charge events at locations throughout Utah.

The 16th annual Utah Humanities Book Festival is buzzing with a line-up of celebrated local, regional, national, and international authors, along with children's programming, poetry slamming, discussions with authors, films,  music, and even a strongman librarian.  The festival is statewide, free, and runs six weeks from September 17th through the entire month of October.

Changes are in store for this year’s festival including the return of the St. George Book Festival, and the expansion of the Salt Lake City portion of the Festival from one to two days, Saturday and Sunday, September 28th and 29th, that will take place mostly on Library Square. The two-day Festival is intended to be a kick off for the month of events to follow in October. But as always, there will be plenty to do outside of Salt Lake City, with events from Tremonton and Brigham City to Cedar City and Boulder.

Keep an eye on the schedule, because there are some great events taking place in early September around the state that you won’t want to miss and new events will continue to be added as the Festival nears.
