Utah Center for the Book

Every book genre gives us an opportunity to view the world around us through a range of perspectives. Books open up new worlds, ideas, emotions, and the entire body of human experience. Image courtesy of  Niki Chan Wylie and Ken Sanders Rare Books.

The Center for the Book fosters a love of books as well as the exploration of contemporary issues through literature.

As the state affiliate of the National Center for the Book at the Library of Congress, UH's Center for the Book promotes public interest in books, reading, authorship, and libraries throughout the state of Utah.

You and/or your organization can improve your community through the Center for the Book with the following programs:

  • Utah Humanities Book Festival: Our statewide celebration during September and National Book Month in October
  • Literary Events: The Center for the Book collaborates with libraries, schools, and community organizations around the state to host all kinds of literary programming. From authors and editors, to book artists and illustrators, we want to examine books and publishing from all angles.
